Two logics on
confrontation.
What happens in Iraq, where it is more
evident, does let us to observe that they are two logics on confrontation. The
first, the rational logic, has developed in that part of the world that we term
the occidental world. This has as basic principles that A is equal to A; if A
is different from B, B is different from A; and if A is equal to B and B is
equal to C, A is equal to C.
It exists an other logic, ubiquitarian, not
rational but quite emotional, prevailing in the Middle East, but mainly
diffused even among us ( in politics, advertising, poetry, etc.). It is the
logic that does identities by similarity, identities by spatial contiguity,
cause and effect relationships by temporal contiguity ( the post hoc ergo
propter hoc), and not-identities by opposition.
When USA soldiers tried to use this second
logics, with torture/humiliations in Iraq for an example, they were at once
reproached following the first logic. But the havoc of the dead body belongs to
the logic (identity for similarity, for an example: I don't do havoc of the
body of a poor died USA soldier, but we attack the same United States; I kill
an Italian cook, to strike Mr Berlusconi, the Italian prime minister, who has
to abandon Iraq). We however judge these facts according the rational logic. We
go on to don't understand, or to understand badly. But our emotionality
understands very well.
The not rational logic is the logic of the
demagogy ( As said by the Italian leftists, Mr Berlusconi, ally of Mr Bush, is
jointly liable of the torture/humiliations in Iraq: An identity by spatial
contiguity, and by similarity), but this is even the logic of animals which, as
for an example, they continually need to do cause and effect relationships
based on the temporal contiguity (The post hoc ergo propter hoc). With such
logic the animal may make mistakes and be alarmed uselessly. It is however
better to be alarmed falsely, that not to be alarmed and be eaten. In the man,
beyond the logic of the emotionalism, true or presumed so, it even the logic of
the figures of speech.
These logical grounds on functioning
mechanisms of the neuronal net (the theories and experimental data have room in
the site <www.reversebrain.net>. The error of USA in Iraq is that they
tried to apply it (the famous "tortures" ) but they have then torn (
the dummy female soldier that "amused her"). They are made ashamed
because the rational logic.
To the not rational logic we may answer with
the not-rational logic, or we can rationally dismount its not rational
mechanisms.
