6. Monday the 27th of December 2001
a curious accident occurred to the
Hon. Pierferdinando Casini, president of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, an
accident reported by Italian TV news.
When dr. Casini started to call each Deputy
for a vote, he read the name of the first one from right to left (mirror
reading). After some seconds of clear astonishing of all people
present, he realized his mistake, he begged pardon, and then he read the same
name in a regular way, which is from left to right.
Usually the mirror reading is
described as the following of a psychopathological event. From the two engrams
that always correspond to a perceptive stimulus, the opposite one sat into the
non-dominant half-brain is habitually suppressed.
This spontaneous accident in a healthy person
leads to confirm that:
1. Temporary troubles of half-brain dominance
can occur even in normal people;
2. Probably stress plays a basic role on it.
